Another Podium Finish for Matt Kerr

Matt Kerr took part in the Hervey Bay 100 (short version, half Ironman Triathlon) held in extremely hot temps and attracting a large and super fast field.

It was the first time Matt was eligible to enter the Pro Elite Field in Australia and he was using the race as a training run before the big Ironman in Perth.

In a hotly contested field of 10 Pros he was up against some really talented short course athletes, but made a significant impact on the group. Matt emerged 4th out of the water with the front bunch, then catching the front leaders on the bike ride and having the fastest bike time across the entire field. He went into the run leg in second place in the heat of the day, bringing home 3rd to round out the podium.

Hunter Campbell continue to be impressed by the dedication of Matt and his determination to succeed. Matt has the Ironman Western Australia in Busselton full (distance Ironman) on the 5th December and we can’t wait to hear how he gets on.
