Description

The Company
Our client is a well-established, market-leading importer, distributor and manufacturer of electrical products, operating across New Zealand and Australia. With a portfolio spanning appliances, lighting, electrical accessories, and consumer electronics, they’ve built a strong reputation for quality and innovation in the market.
Based on the North Shore, this is a business that values its people and fosters a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you’ll have real scope to make your mark.

The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role. As the Compliance Coordinator, you’ll be the primary compliance contact. Bridging the local team with their China-based counterparts and ensuring products meet all AU/NZ regulatory requirements.
If you’ve got a background in product compliance and enjoy the detail-oriented, cross-functional nature of the work, this one would be of interest.
You’ll work closely with internal engineers and product managers, external labs, retail compliance teams, and offshore colleagues. Clear and concise communication and the ability to juggle multiple priorities will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary NZ compliance contact, coordinating with the China-based compliance and engineering teams.
  • Liaise with AU/NZ laboratories and retail compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Review, verify, and approve product compliance documentation including rating labels, user manuals, packaging markings, and declarations of conformity.
  • Cross-check product specifications and test reports against AS/NZS standards and EESS/RCM requirements.
  • Manage compliance data migration and maintain documentation accuracy.
  • Support product development and testing logistics.
  • Communicate with internal engineers and product managers to resolve compliance discrepancies and corrective actions.
  • Maintain the internal compliance manual.
  • Drive improvements in compliance reporting and automation.

What’s In It For You
You’ll be joining one of Australasia’s largest importer and distributor of electrical products. A market-leading business with over 25 years of stability behind it. This is a varied, autonomous role where no two days look the same, and there’s opportunity to shape and improve compliance processes and systems. With a collaborative team around you that values innovation and continuous improvement.

You’ll Bring
You’ll have 2–5 years’ experience in compliance or regulatory affairs, ideally within a product environment, along with a solid understanding of AU/NZ compliance regulations including AS/NZS, EESS, EMC, and SDOC. Strong Excel skills and a sharp eye for detail are a must, as is a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to communicate effectively across cultures and at all levels of a business.
