Our client is one of the largest fully integrated logistics providers operating in New Zealand. Due to their global supply chain ties and local network, they are in a prime position to grow their market share as an end to end solution for both domestic and international clients.
This is part of their international division focusing on the express / parcel business. There is also a heavy focus on technology to help increase visibility for key clients.
This is a full end to end Customs Manager role looking after a team of 5 brokers and 3 administration staff. The role has a heavy reporting piece as the volume is high and the customers are demanding. The role requires monthly reporting of clearance volumes to both internal customers and the wider management team.
The role requires resiliency and someone who can act as a buffer between demanding clients and the team. The team is very experienced and very capable in their own right, but they need a strong leader. You will be responsible for training, coaching and mentoring the team in a positive way in a fast paced environment. The people and stakeholder management cannot be understated in this position.
