The business continues to experience significant growth and with that, a new opportunity has presented itself for a Financial Controller to join the business and play a critical role in supporting the CEO and finance team to their next milestone.
The Role
Reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the Cardinal Group (Hold Co and subsidiaries) financial health by taking ownership of financial management and reporting, and internal control processes, as well as working closely with the CEO and CLG to understand and plan for upcoming capital expenditure and lease/funding arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Financial Oversight: Manage and control all financial reporting, audit, tax and treasury.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards and prepare timely and accurate financial reports for stakeholders.
- Strategy & Planning: Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making by providing insights into financial performance and potential risks.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
You will be either CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years of experience at a senior level. You will have a strong technical background and in depth understanding of NZ IFRS, financial and management accounting practices, financial systems and audit. Experience managing tax and treasury would be beneficial.
You will be autonomous, driven and self-directed with a track-record of delivering multiple workstreams to deadline. You show initiative and innovation and have the ability to solve complex issues with sound judgement. Excellent interpersonal skills will help you engage across multiple teams and partner well at a senior level.
