Well established NZ owned business who have an iconic brand known by many. Although this operation started small, they have now grown to be a major building products player in the residential sector, and are making inroads in to the commercial market as well.
Over the last two and a half years, new owners have started the journey of modernising and optimising the business and are starting to see the results of smart capital expenditure. Due to smart planning / importing product prior to global supply chains being disrupted, our client is primed for near and long term growth.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, and reporting to the Managing Director, this is a newly created role that will touch all facets of the business. This person will be required to deal with all the human capital requirements, operational oversight of the shop floor, work in progress / tenders and new business. There will be an element of new business development / client retention and the people management cannot be undersold. We need a very strong people manager who would suit a blue collar environment and all the challenges that come with that.
The person we are looking for will have done a similar leadership role in the past. We want someone who can continue to build a strong culture by getting buy in from all levels of employee. The perfect candidate will juggle the operational and human elements of the business while also contributing to the bottom line through new business.
