Description

Head of Strategy opportunity to partner with both the Business and Corporate banking business lines at an Auckland based Commercial bank.

This organisation is a market leader within Business and Corporate banking and is looking for a highly experienced strategy leader, with significant experience and working exposure to Financial Services. As Head of Strategy across both Business and Corporate banking, you will be responsible for leading a team and developing executable strategies, which meet the medium and long-term goals of the wider bank and two business lines.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To lead, develop, communicate and monitor execution of the medium and long-term business and operational strategies for both business service lines; whilst coaching and developing the wider strategy team members.
  • Deliver strong analytical capability to all strategy work, ensuring the different business units meet profit, growth and customer targets through strong insights.
  • Engage in strategy reviews in conjunction with business units to identify key gaps, opportunities and risks and to challenge key strategic assumptions.
  • In partnership with the business, create and drive a clear roadmap to ensure that strategies are robust, realistic and achievable.

Skillset and experience required to be successful:

  • You will have a minimum of 10 years of strategy experience in a leadership position from a large corporate or strategy consultancy; with a number of these years spent in Financial Services. You will have extensive experience in developing and executing strategic plans and initiatives, including the development of strategies for new markets.
  • You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the strong ability to work effectively with ambiguity and under pressure. Must have experience working at a senior management level and with executives, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • You will have a solid understanding of the New Zealand regulatory and legislative environment for Financial Services.
