About the company:

Our client has a successful operation that has been primarily run out of New Zealand for the last 40 years. As the business has grown and with over 400 heads, they now have global touchpoints with staff also working in both NZ and offshore locations. As the industry in which they operate has evolved, they have adapted to meet these needs, as a result, they are continuing to grow year on year. The business was built up and then listed on the NZX. From there, they were acquired and are now backed by a private equity firm.

About the role:

With the business continuing to grow and plans in place for business expansion, a newly created HR Director role has been created.

This opportunity will see you setting up operational policy and strategic HR practice as they look to work more innovatively.

As the HR Director, you will inspire confidence and gain trust throughout the business with the ability to deliver clear proof points on any project or strategy, demonstrating effectiveness throughout the process. 

This role will see you leading and supporting the incumbent People Team to develop, implement and maintain a streamlined HR agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the organisation.

This position will see you working closely and collaborating with Senior Management to support and enable measurable differences in employee focus and increase productivity. In addition to this, actions will be worked on to improve workplace retention and gender diversification.
Sitting on the executive team, you will report directly to the Group CFO who then reports to the Chairman based with the Private Equity firm offshore.
About you:

Your interpersonal skills will be advanced, with the ability to inspire and develop the team that reports to you as well as having the confidence to work closely with and advise your senior stakeholders. 

You will have had strong working experience in developing strategic HR policies and procedures, a thorough understanding of New Zealand employment law, have developed L&D programs, worked through implementing performance management frameworks, managed recruitment processes, lead HR teams and worked through change management.
