Manufacturing Manager

10 / 01 / 2022

  • Hamilton
  • Permanent / Full Time
  • Manufacturing / Plant Management

The Company
This family-owned New Zealand business has been established for over 15 years. They are about to embark on a new growth phase that is very exciting. This is essentially a start-up role, they have taken over an existing production facility and are in the process of repurposing this to their needs.

The Opportunity
Exciting doesn’t even begin to describe this role. It is one of the most interesting manufacturing roles currently in the market.

The role entails working alongside a project management team on the set-up of the site. From there, nothing about this is set in stone. You’ll be responsible for all compliance and process SOP’s, getting the site up and running and the ongoing recruitment of a team. It is thought there will be a team in the region of 30-50 on-site.

It would be preferable if this person came from a food manufacturing background. We need a strong leader, who is firm but fair, and able to make decisions in a timely manner. This role will also require good project management and planning skills as the site build progresses.
What’s in it for you…
A chance to work in a market that comes with a big feel-good factor. They are providing food for schools around the country and you’ll be helping to fuel the growing young minds of New Zealand. There will be learnings throughout the journey. R&D will be a huge focus to ensure the variety of meals is on offer while maintaining the nutritional value.  For this to be successful we need someone who is able to challenge the status quo, who also has the ability to set up and run a best in class facility.

This is a people-focused business, where company culture is paramount. Therefore you will be surrounded by fantastic colleagues in a supportive environment. Remuneration will all depend on the level of experience.
