Description

About the Company
Our client is an established and highly regarded New Zealand manufacturer with a strong commitment to sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement. Operating out of South Auckland, they produce a range of consumer products and have built a genuine culture around doing things the right way. This is a business that takes pride in its people, its processes, and its purpose. If those things matter to you, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role running the shift across a busy manufacturing operation, Monday to Thursday 2:30pm-01:00am. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for a team of 10 that is growing towards 20. With full operational performance of the site overnight.
You will keep production moving, hold the team to high standards, and make sure safety and quality are front and centre. This role suits someone who leads from the front. Someone as comfortable troubleshooting on the floor as they are managing a handover or driving a continuous improvement initiative.
You’ll be supervising and coordinating all night shift production activities in line with schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. Leading, coaching, and supporting your team to maintain high performance and a positive, inclusive culture. Managing shift handovers and communicating effectively with day shift supervisors and the production manager. Monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating maintenance as required.

About You
You are an experienced production supervisor who knows how to run a shift. You bring calm under pressure, a practical leadership style, and the credibility that comes from having done the work yourself. Ideally we are looking for minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment. A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality control. Experience with ERP systems and production reporting tools. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and environmental compliance standards. A hands-on approach and the confidence to lead by example on the floor and a genuine commitment to sustainability and doing things with integrity will go a long way here.
