The company
Our client is one of the largest fully integrated logistics providers operating in New Zealand. Due to their global supply chain ties and local network, they are in a prime position to grow their market share as an end to end solution for both domestic and international clients.

Our client deals with a variety of commodities across all industries and has a close link across the Tasman that refers business through where possible. There is also a heavy focus on technology to help both internally and create more visibility for customers externally. This role supports our client’s busiest site in the country, hence it’s not for the fainthearted.

The Opportunity….
The operation you will be supporting has a heavy transport focus where you will be ensuring as close to 100% of trucks depart at the required time, and linehaul freight is moved to agreed schedules. On the flip side, you will be ensuring inwards freight is delivered free from damage and in full quantity.

This role also ensures that all collection times and line haul despatch times are monitored and recorded for reporting to customers. If anything is damaged, you must make sure all information is captured and reported to Claims and Customer Service.

This person needs to be skilled at building effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders to leverage key information – especially on the floor. Our client has a unique customer base in specialised freight which makes the operation different than most. Knowledge across metro, linehaul and courier is critical.

What’s in it for you?
The chance to support a branch manager with a solid client base which is growing rapidly. Future career opportunities available across the business if you perform well in this role.

The challenge will be balancing your workload as this site can move at a pace not many are used to. This is a successful branch, but the challenge will be to support and suggest continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and productivity. Would only suit someone who is hands on and action orientated. Previous site management responsibilities are critical for anyone wanting to be considered.
