The company

The business is a Kiwi business and manufactures their products both in NZ and overseas. Their products are industrial and are found across multiple industries who have demand for their products and they expect to grow considerably over the coming years which presents plenty of opportunities for their team to grow with them. 

They are looking for a passionate, talented planner who can help drive current and future success within their supply chain team. 

The opportunity

Based in Auckland, you will report to the Supply Chain Manager and be a key part of a small yet growing Supply Chain team. 

As the business is a manufacturer, you will be focusing on the purchasing and buying of raw materials for their manufacturing sites and teams both here in Auckland and overseas.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Raising purchase orders and managing these orders through to them arriving on site
  • Interact with suppliers both in NZ and overseas through their regular planning cycles
  • Be a key player across their MRP system and contribute to developments and improvements with the system
  • Be part of continuous improvement of purchasing systems, processes and performance
  • Manage stock in transit and communicate updates across all relevant stakeholders 
  • Have the opportunity to contribute to company-wide S&OP which is continuing to develop

You may be early on in your Supply Chain career and looking for an opportunity to learn a lot of different skills in a fast paced and complex environment of which this role and business can be sure to provide you with.

Some exposure within manufacturing in a supply chain environment whether that is within purchasing, buying or planning would be very advantageous and help you to get up to speed quickly in the role. It would be great if you did have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or an NZPICS or CIPS member although you will have the opportunity to develop and continue to learn with this role. Good experience with Microsoft Excel will also be needed to an intermediate level. 

The salary banding for the role is between $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience and you will have every opportunity to grow with the business and the exciting projects and opportunities they have coming up over the coming years.
