Description

The Company & The Opportunity
Fiordland Lobster Company is dedicated to the sustainable fishing and live export of wild-caught Southern Rock Lobster (New Zealand crayfish). 35 years after its creation, the company remains New Zealand’s largest exporter of high-quality lobster — a business built on excellence, innovation, and long-term partnerships.

As the business continues to evolve, an exciting opportunity has been created for a Planning, Reporting & Process Improvement Lead to join the Supply Chain leadership team, based in Rolleston.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this role will play a pivotal part in optimising planning, reporting, and business processes across the end-to-end supply chain. You’ll work cross-functionally to drive efficiency, improve visibility, and enable data-led decision-making that supports Fiordland Lobster’s continued growth and operational excellence.

This position will suit an analytically minded and influential supply chain or operations professional who thrives on problem-solving, collaboration, and driving tangible improvement in complex, fast-moving environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering & Reporting: Deliver insightful monthly reviews, dashboards, and analytical tools that support data-driven decision-making and empower a self-service reporting culture.
  • Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement across processes, systems, and reporting accuracy, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and operational performance.
  • Supply Chain Planning: Lead and optimise Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) activities across supply, demand, resource, and transport functions.
  • Process Design & Transformation: Review, simplify, and digitise core operational processes — developing SOPs, workflows, and embedding lean principles to achieve operational excellence.
  • Asset Management: Develop and implement integrated asset management strategies for plant, fleet, and equipment, supporting lifecycle optimisation and digitisation initiatives.
  • Supply Chain Roadmap: Support the Head of Supply Chain in delivering roadmap projects and initiatives that drive long-term capability and improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in supply chain or operations planning, reporting, or process improvement in a complex operating environment (5+ years).
  • Strong analytical and financial capability, with experience developing tools, dashboards, and insights for business performance.
  • Demonstrated experience driving change through influence and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Broad exposure to IBP and S&OP frameworks, with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma, process automation, and digital transformation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, high EQ, and the ability to manage stakeholders across all levels.
  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.

What’s In It For You?

  • Join a respected and growing New Zealand exporter with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability.
  • Play a key role in shaping the digital and process transformation of a dynamic supply chain.
  • Work alongside passionate industry professionals who value collaboration, improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Competitive remuneration, career growth opportunities, and the chance to make a real impact.

If you are an analytical, improvement-focused supply chain professional ready to lead change and make a difference, this could be just the opportunity you have been looking for.
