Description

About the Company:

Our client is a large, well-established organisation with a national footprint and multiple sites across New Zealand. They operate in a highly regulated, service-driven environment and play an important role in supporting communities, industry and essential services across the country. With a strong focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement, they are investing in their people, systems and supplier partnerships to support future growth.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Procurement Administrator to join our client’s growing procurement team based in Mt Wellington. This is a newly created role on an initial 9 month contract, created to provide additional support while the team focuses on a number of strategic initiatives across the business.

Due to the nature of the work underway, we are looking for someone who is immediately available or able to start at short notice.

This is a great entry point into procurement for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and processes and is keen to build a long term career in supply chain, procurement or commercial operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and controlling procurement documentation and contracts
  • Managing and updating supplier and contract master data
  • Supporting reporting on supplier activity against agreed contracts and pricing
  • Assisting with audits, data checks and compliance tracking
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal stakeholders with procurement-related queries
  • Supporting the wider team with general procurement administration as required

Over the course of the contract, you will develop an understanding of procurement processes, supplier management and build some knowledge on how commercial agreements are managed within a large organisation.

About You:

This role would suit someone who is early in their career and keen to learn, or a recent Bachelor of Commerce graduate looking to get hands-on experience within a procurement environment.

You will bring:

  • A can-do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to pick things up quickly in a busy environment
  • Confidence using systems, Excel and basic reporting tools
  • A genuine interest in procurement, supply chain or commercial operations

What’s in it for You?

This is a great opportunity to step into a supportive procurement team at a time when they are investing in more strategic work. You will gain exposure to real-world supplier relationships, contracts and procurement best practice, setting you up well for future roles in procurement, supply chain or commercial teams.
