The opportunity
This is a 12-month fixed-term-contract opportunity for a Property Accountant. You will be responsible for the financial reporting of the Precinct Portfolio and providing assistance to the Accounting Team Leader with all other month end reporting requirements.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Prepare monthly EOM reporting up to Net Property Income;
  • Review the general ledger and undertake journals and adjustments as part of the month end process;
  • Assist the Property and Facilities Managers in preparation of monthly income and expenditure accruals;
  • Prepare, review and reconcile income and expenditure profit and loss accounts to trial balance on a monthly and year to date basis;
  • Undertake variance analysis, in conjunction with the Property and Facilities Managers, on a monthly basis providing explanations for discrepancies on a month to date and year to date basis;
  • Complete monthly operating expense washups accruals for management reporting and annual washups for tenants including audit review;
  • Complete calculations for turnover rental and GOC invoices as per specific lease requirements;
  • Deliver monthly and other periodic reports within specified timeframes for the Precinct Portfolio;
  • Prepare the calculation of IFRS adjustments for property prepayments, lease incentives, prepaid lease costs and straight-line rental income;
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and monthly forecast preparation;
  • Support the annual and interim audits.

Your profile

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a business related discipline;
  • CA/CPA or equivalent qualified or working towards;
  • 3+ years of accounting experience;
  • Experience in property accounting;
  • Experience in retail property accounting;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
