Our client is responsible for regional transport services for the wider Auckland area. This includes all transport projects and services including roads, footpaths, cycling, parking and public transport.
A critical part of their remit is to provide a safe environment for everyone using these services, whether it’s operators or the general public. The vision is to dramatically decrease incidents related to transport that cause injuries, hence wanting to build out a team to put this vision in to practice.
This position reports to the Head of Safety Development. The day to day responsibilities will include collaborating with the Safety Business Partners, customers and other key stakeholders to design, build, and lead the delivery of the wider transport safety programmes, projects and initiatives.
The role will require cross-functional leadership both internally and externally to deliver transformative strategy. The intent is for the Safety team to work in an adaptable way. This may involve short-term projects in virtual teams and/or the adoption of adaptable work practices.
