Breadcraft Wairarapa Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our expanding Bakery team in Masterton, Wairarapa.

Breadcraft (BWL) established in the Wairarapa in 1942, is a fast-growing successful Bakery business producing Artisan & Baked products that our customers love.
  
Alongside our Cottage Lane artisan breads and Rebel Bakehouse wraps & bagels, we offer a whole range of delicious products, including market-leading gluten-free products, paninis, burger buns and other smallgoods.

The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to bring your experience & expertise to lead Breadcraft to greater levels of operational excellence.
  
You will take on a key leadership role with both operational and strategic responsibility. Heading up a team of six direct reports you will take on responsibility for leading a substantial production site and contribute to key decisions and leadership of the business as a key member of the SLT.
  
You will lead and improve manufacturing and operational performance through strong leadership and the Continuous Improvement of processes, systems, production efficiencies, people and innovation. You will enjoy working with a collaborative and visionary leadership team and enjoy a wide scope of responsibility across manufacturing, operations, HSE, Lean Manufacturing, people leadership, budgeting, planning, reporting and strategic decision-making and execution.
  
About you:
Having developed your skills & experience over the years working in a fast-paced FMCG or similar manufacturing environment, you will be a natural leader, a Health & Safety Champion, well organised, a clear communicator & be passionate about supporting your team to achieve wonderful things.
  
From your impressive experience base, you will be able to give strong examples of operational performance improvement & team development delivery, along with demonstrated experience in capital & process improvement and project management.

What you’ll be doing 
As the Operations Manager, you’ll be part of the Senior Leadership Team and key to the development and execution of the site strategy, enhancing and optimising performance through the development of high-performing teams, implementation of Lean and driving a positive and high performing culture.

The business is well-set for growth with demand outstripping current capacity and supply. You will be responsible for driving productivity gains, restructuring the manufacturing and operation function to support growth and to set up an site to double capacity with further growth planned in the future

Main Responsibilities 

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for;

  • Providing visionary leadership for the operations teams whilst developing High Performing Teams and implementing systems of work
  • Creating a culture and environment that enables the site to perform at the highest possible level
  • Contributing to the shaping of the strategic vision as part of the senior management team (SMT) providing an integrated strategic plan which incorporates all dimensions of people, plant and process development.
  • Providing pace-setting leadership for the operations teams through the development and implementation of High Performing Workplace systems of work.
  • Developing engagement and empowerment at all levels of the operations team-building skills, capability and contribution
