The Role:
Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Trade Procurement & Supply is one of the 5 most senior positions in a company of ~40 employees. This hands-on leadership role will oversee the entire procurement function, including strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory planning, and new product development. You will manage a team of three and collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and Sales & Marketing teams to drive profitability, optimise inventory, and secure exclusive partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering accountability and a high-performance culture.
- Oversee global supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms and service agreements.
- Manage end-to-end procurement of over 4,000 SKUs, balancing stock levels with cash flow and minimising lost sales risk.
- Drive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) in partnership with Operations and Sales teams.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing and SKU lifecycle management, introducing new products in line with market trends.
- Implement cost optimisation initiatives, pricing strategies, and foreign exchange mitigation measures.
- Attend key international trade shows (China, USA, Germany, Italy) and manage vendor performance and partnerships.
- Provide executive-level insights on procurement performance, inventory health, and strategic opportunities.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial leadership (e.g. procurement or merchandising), ideally managing global suppliers and developing long-term strategic relationships
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing strategies, cost optimisation, and inventory management.
- Hands-on, proactive leader with excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence at the executive level.
- Adaptable and comfortable leading change in a growing, high-performing business.
