Josie Clarke

Senior Consultant, Accounting - Permanent

About Josie

I recruit in the newly qualified space for permanent roles. Typically, this includes Big 4 first movers, people coming out of public practice or newly qualified professionals, encompassing everyone looking to make their first move into industry.

I invest my time in building relationships within this cohort, supporting them in their process, understanding what they are looking for, acting as a sounding board, and providing career advice.  When I have a role from a client, I typically already know a number of people who will be perfect for the position because I know the talent in this space, what they are looking for and what culture they will fit. My role is much broader than finding someone technically capable – it’s all about finding the right role for the individual, which means a cultural fit, an aligned mentor, as well as a business that supports their career aspirations in the long run. The most important thing for me is making the right match for the client and the candidate.

I have been in recruitment for almost 5 years, the last 3 ½ years within the Accounting & Finance sector. Prior to joining Hunter Campbell, I worked at a multinational recruitment business and have worked across contract & permanent vacancies, so I have a good understanding of the Auckland market and top talent.

I’m known for placing newly qualified top talent into exciting roles across SME businesses and large corporates and I’ve developed a reputation for placing talent in a very short space of time.

Life Outside the Office

Originally from the UK, I have been living in New Zealand for 10 years and am about to get my citizenship. So, I’m essentially a Kiwi but with a weird accent. I’m a keen horse-rider, very accident prone (if you ask my Boss), love anything adrenalin based and have a wee cocker spaniel puppy who I love to sneak into the office as often as I can
