The Role
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and Senior Leadership Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial direction, delivering accurate reporting and insights, improving operational efficiency, and driving commercial decision-making across the business.
This is a broad and highly influential leadership role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on management across all financial operations, systems, and processes. You will lead a team of seven and play a key role in ensuring the business operates effectively through strong financial discipline, technology integration, and sound risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive financial advice and insights to the CEO and Board
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Ensure full compliance with insurance industry regulations, taxation obligations, and financial reporting standards
- Oversee accounting, treasury, tax, and all financial operations
- Deliver accurate monthly reporting and analysis to support decision-making
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks
- Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
Skills & Experience
You’re a seasoned finance leader with experience operating at an executive or senior leadership level. You combine technical financial expertise with commercial insight and can operate comfortably between strategy, operations, and hands-on delivery. Some of your expertise will include:
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive
- Strong technical accounting foundation
- Deep knowledge of financial governance, compliance, and risk management
- Experience in regulated industries (insurance or financial services advantageous)
- Strong analytical capability and comfort managing detailed financial operations
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to influence at CEO and Board level
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
