The Opportunity

Working as a contract cost accountant with an internationally recognised company is a rare opportunity!

You will play a crucial role in financial analysis and cost management. You’ll collaborate with the broader finance team and executive team, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making. There is also a chance for a contract extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate revenue sources and cost of goods sold to analyse profitability, identify budget variances, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Assess pricing frameworks to confirm cost recovery and suggest adjustments to optimize margins.
  • Generate and reconcile financial reports for customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to support business decisions.
  • Oversee budget performance by tracking margins, revenue, key variances, and COGS, sharing insights with key stakeholders.
  • Build financial models for scenario analysis and deliver data-driven recommendations for decision-making.
  • Compile comprehensive variance reports focusing on KPIs related to revenue, cost management, and inventory trends.

  
About You

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant with a background in manufacturing, FMCG, or similarly complex industries. You’ll have strong commercial and financial acumen, capable of analysing complex data and translating it into actionable insights.

Exceptional communication skills are essential as you’ll engage with finance and non-finance stakeholders, including senior executives. We need someone with a hands-on approach who is comfortable diving into the details while maintaining a strategic outlook.

Advanced financial modelling and reporting expertise is key. Ideally, advanced Excel and SAP exposure is essential. A CA/CPA qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.

Systems Implementation Lead – Finance

Description

An excellent opportunity for a Systems Implementation Specialist with a strong track record in continuous improvement initiatives and financial systems implementations/ upgrades.

Partnering with the CFO and liaising with various end users across the finance team, this role requires a high calibre business partner with a combination of financial literacy and strong projects/ systems exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key lead role when collaborating with the implementation partner with the initial scope through to implementation.
  • Assist with the configuration, testing, and deployment of the new finance system, ensuring accurate data migration and seamless integration with other systems.
  • Partner with the finance team to define and document new system processes, controls, and provide training and guidance throughout the implementation phase.
  • Ensure all financial reporting complies with regulatory standards, and work on automating reports and dashboards for improved efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough data validation and reconciliation following the migration to ensure the accuracy of financial records and statements.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to identify and implement improvements in processes like accounts payable, receivable, procurement, and general ledger management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in commercial or financial management.
  • CA/ CPA qualification, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or finance systems implementation.
  • Experience in ERP system implementation, data migration, and system integration projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance standards.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication abilities and experience managing stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial software tools.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage timelines effectively during system transitions.

You will be a collaborative team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong internal relationships while managing and documenting the project’s progress.
  • Lead the efforts in data purge to ensure data accuracy and quality for smooth system implementation.
  • Analyse and evaluate testing results, ensuring alignment with approved project objectives and requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the transition to the new system during the go-live phase, ensuring a seamless implementation and minimal disruption.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and expert advice to team members and stakeholders, ensuring their understanding and alignment with project goals and methodologies.

About You

Supply Chain Analyst

About the Role:

A contract opportunity has become available for a Supply Chain Analyst for an immediate start to support our client on an initial three-month contract. While our client’s head office is in Auckland, they are open to a remote working/ work from home arrangement for the right New Zealand-based candidate.

In this role, you will support the Supply Chain Long-Term Strategic team by maintaining and analysing large data sets to inform network design and optimisation. You will work with supply chain modelling tools, such as Optilogic’s Cosmic Frog, to create digital twin models, evaluate “what-if” scenarios, and support strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will develop Power BI dashboards to visualise key insights and enhance visibility across supply chain operations.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have experience working with large data sets and be proficient in Power Query and Power BI dashboard development. Experience with a supply chain design and digital twin modelling tool—such as Cosmic Frog, LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru, AIMMS, or Kinaxis—would be highly advantageous.

A background in manufacturing, particularly within the food or beverage industry, is highly desirable. You will be quick to grasp new concepts, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and work autonomously while effectively interpreting and rationalising data sets.

The Role
As the Assistant Accountant, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
