Our client is a well-established New Zealand business and part of a larger international FMCG group. With a strong portfolio of iconic local and global brands, they operate across multiple sites and are highly regarded for their focus on quality, service and operational excellence.

About the role:

Due to staff being on annual leave and there being a need to keep up with planning and purchasing, our client is looking for a Planning & Purchasing Controller to join their team on an initial 2-month contract.
  
Based on the city fringe, this is an immediate start opportunity.

In this role, you will take ownership of a small product portfolio with responsibility for planning, purchasing and inventory management. This includes planning to replenish min/max levels, working closely with the Marketing team to plan for promotional activity and collaborating with Logistics/3PL providers to manage stock flow and availability. You will also support the development of reporting frameworks to track key operational and financial metrics.

About you:

You will be detail-focused, quick to pick things up and confident working in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential. Experiencing in purchasing/planning within a FMCG company on SAP is highly desirable.

Your profile

Corporate Finance Analyst – 12-month FTC

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join an Auckland-based leading retail, wholesale, and distribution business in a role that sits at the heart of strategic planning and executive decision-making. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a robust 5-year planning model, tracking the progress of key strategic initiatives, and delivering high-impact analysis and executive-level presentations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own the group’s 5-year financial planning model and support scenario analysis, forecasting, and business case development
  • Develop dashboards and KPI frameworks to track the performance of strategic initiatives
  • Deliver clear and insightful strategic analysis across areas such as market trends, competitor benchmarking, and investment options
  • Create high-quality executive presentations, coordinating inputs across functions to ensure accuracy and alignment
  • Support cross-functional strategy and transformation projects as directed by the CFO or CEO

About You
You will bring at least 5 years of experience in corporate finance, financial modelling or strategic analysis. You’re commercially astute, analytical, and highly comfortable working with senior stakeholders. You’ll also have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to build models, forecast outcomes, and translate data into compelling narratives. Whilst having a proactive, collaborative mindset with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

A relevant professional qualification (CAANZ, CFA or similar) is preferred but not essential. Prior experience in a large corporate or complex organisation would be advantageous.
