The Opportunity
Post Haste is looking for a motivated and adaptable Assistant Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Passionate about supporting growth pathways within their business, this role will provide an excellent opportunity for professional growth and exposure across a wide range of areas within accounting and finance. You will work alongside a high-performing team to support the efficient running of finance operations. You will play a key part in ensuring business continues as usual, while key team members focus on a transformation project. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- General Accounts: Assist in daily financial operations, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and processing invoices/payments.
- Accounts Payable: Support the processing of supplier invoices and payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Billing & Invoicing: Help prepare and issue accurate customer invoices.
- Credit Control: Assist with tracking and following up on outstanding payments.
- Reconciliation: Help reconcile accounts, including bank and supplier accounts.
- Emissions reporting: Assist with the data capture for all business emissions
- Ad-Hoc Duties: Assist with various tasks as required by the finance team to support business continuity, including data entry and filing.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be adaptable, driven, and eager to develop your accounting skillset. You will be a team-player who can work both collaboratively and independently with strong communication skills. You will have a sound understanding of accounting principles and practices, coupled with strong attention to detail and organisational skills. You will be a keen problem-solver and enjoy taking on new tasks with an analytical mindset. Ideally, you will be confident in using Excel (experience with accounting software is a plus). You will enjoy working in the office as this is an office-based role. Importantly, you will have a “can-do” attitude and be excited to grow your accounting career with Post Haste.
