Description

The company

Founded in New Zealand and with a strong international footprint, they are a FMCG business who manufacture locally and export to several key international markets. Their products are recognised for their quality and being slightly unique in their respective markets.

The culture in New Zealand is that of a small business where the team all love to be challenged, enjoy rolling up their sleeves to get the job done while having a lot of fun along the way. As a result of the business continuing to grow and taking on new markets, they are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to provide leadership and coordination of their end to end local supply chain in what is a key hire for their business and a newly created role.

The opportunity

As the Supply Chain Manager you will report to the New Zealand Director and manage the companies end to end Supply Chain activities. The demand is forecasted from their international teams based on the demand across their global markets. You will be provided the forecasts to then lead the S&OP activities to develop the supply plan and put forward your production recommendations for global sign off on a monthly cycle typically. The business uses several third party manufacturers who you will lead these relationships along with third party logistics providers for controlling all inventory movements, exports and managing these partnerships from a commercial perspective with monthly reviews in place.

The role will also manage the flow of exports to their international markets and through to delivery and receipt of goods into their logistics providers warehouses. The international teams then lead the logistics coordination to their direct customers. You will have two direct reports who will support you with these activities and you will be expected to develop these team members with their individual personal development plans to allow them to grow and take on further challenges across the business. Other key tasks that you will have will be around some new product development and group projects across the business where your supply chain expertise will be heavily relied upon. There will be some procurement activities and working closely with the Finance team.
What’s in it for you?

This is an incredibly exciting time to join the business as they continue to grow and take on new markets. This is a brand new role in the business and has come about due to recognising a need to have a more focused Supply Chain Manager directly working with their third party suppliers and managing all S&OP activities for New Zealand. As the Supply Chain Manager you be a part of their New Zealand Corporate Leadership Team and have the opportunity to own the end to end supply chain and put in best practice procedures to ensure the success of their operations including their third party providers.

We are looking for the successful applicant to come from an FMCG environment with ideally 5 to 10 years of experience across supply chain planning and managing third party manufacturing and logistics, including exporting. You will be a team player and ambitious individual with a “can do” personality that thrives in a growing environment with an entrepreneurial way of thinking. The business is ever changing and your ability to be agile and act quickly will see you be successful with this role. We are also looking for an experienced user of ERP systems and Excel skills.

Ideally you will have experience leading a small team however we will consider this role as a first step into team leadership should you have the right leadership qualities to take on this challenge.

Your excellent organisation skills and forward-thinking gives you the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks, all the while being adaptable and flexible to changes as they arise. As the business develops, you are ready to take on new challenges and apply yourself in areas where you feel you can contribute.

The role is based in Auckland and there is lots of flexibility to work at both the office and from home. There may be the occasional travel required in future once restrictions ease.
