Katherine (Kat) Biggelaar

Consultant, Supply Chain, Operations and Procurement

About Katherine

My focus is on immediately available talent, ideal for temporary and contract solutions that fit with what our clients are looking to achieve across the Supply Chain, Operations and Procurement space.

Using a proactive approach, I connect the dots between current contracting talent and contract end dates, as well as matching requirements and skills to ensure a valuable placement.

I can be relied on to quickly deliver shortlists with immediately available candidates. Always asking the right questions, I gather an excellent understanding of candidate’s profiles as well as our client’s driving factors, which enables me to find the best fit for both.

With a BEd(Tchg) from Auckland University my background is in Primary School teaching. In teaching, you have a number of personalities, profiles and situations to navigate. I find recruitment has many crossovers with teaching, there are always a lot of plates to spin! I believe it is important that you understand candidate’s technical capabilities as well as the soft skills they bring to the table, so you can best match them with the right company and the right role.

I enjoy working alongside people and understanding their profiles. I have built a reputation as a trusted and effective recruitment partner who provides solutions to a mix of large and SME organisations throughout New Zealand. I am a confident communicator and build and maintain internal and external relationships with ease.

Life Outside the Office

It’s safe to say I know how to be busy – but that is how I like it. I like making the most out of each day and enjoy spending time socialising with friends and family. You will often find me in the outdoors, I have a passion for mountain biking, hiking, fishing and when I can, being out on the water for water sports. In 2019 I joined the New Zealand Army as an Army Reservist. I am in 3/6 Battalion – Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment and partake in regular weekend training exercises. I enjoy going to music festivals but can also do chill – I enjoy a good board game – Catan and Monopoly Deal are great if you are looking for recommendations!
