We were once again pleased to be able to host a couple of tables at the charity lunch in support of Big Buddy on Friday.
Big Buddy matches mentors for fatherless boys between the ages of 7-14. Mentors spend time with the boys and provide guidance, which helps the boys build their courage and confidence.
At the lunch guests heard about the charity’s work and from speakers including All Black legend and Big Buddy Trustee Grant Fox, who spoke about the selection process for the Rugby World Cup. We also heard some classic father and son stories and about the importance of spending time with your children from TV host and fisherman Matt Waston. The event was hosted by radio personality and Big Buddy Roman Travers.
Hunter Campbell Founding Partner Ken Webb says: “CEO Paul Burns and his team at Big Buddy do fantastic work in the community and we are proud to support them. It’s always great to hear the stories of the work that the mentors are doing and about the huge, positive impact they are having on the lives of boys and young men.”
The lunch, held at the Fantail and Turtle, raised $45,000.00 for Big Buddy. What an amazing effort from all involved!
