The Role
The Investment Operations team plays a vital support role, administering the Guardians’ portfolio through oversight and controls, Net Asset Value reporting at total portfolio level, and trade support for the internal trading desk. The team acts as a key liaison with global custodians, external managers and counterparties, underpinning the integrity and efficiency of investment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process daily fund and trade support activity accurately and on time
  • Validate investment data used for analysis, trading and performance reporting
  • Identify, investigate and resolve exceptions and breaks, escalating where needed
  • Liaise with the global custodian, OMS provider, external managers and counterparties
  • Lead or support set-ups for new products and investments
  • Maintain process documentation and contribute to risk registers and controls
  • Capture and report incidents, sharing root-cause learnings across the team
  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles to improve processes

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in an operations function within financial services
  • Sound understanding of financial markets, how funds work and the purpose of investment operations
  • Working knowledge of post-trade processes, including settlements, reconciliations, confirmations and the role of the custodian
  • Product knowledge across cash, FX and fixed income
  • Detail-oriented, logical problem solver with a strong awareness of risk and controls
  • Clear communicator who builds effective relationships internally and with service providers
  • Proactive and curious, with ownership of your own learning and development

Highly regarded:

  • Exposure to OTC derivatives, including post-trade valuations and life-cycle management
  • Depth of multi-product experience gained within a fund, custodian or investment manager

  • Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT and conduct obligations across several regimes, such as New Zealand, Seychelles, ASIC or CySEC
  • Direct regulator engagement, including licence applications, inspections and audits
