Description

The Company – a force for good in our communities
Christian Savings is not your typical financial services provider. As the only charitable licensed non-bank deposit taker in New Zealand, they are highly commercial yet fundamentally purpose-led, providing ethical, tailored lending that helps churches and Christian charities serve their communities.
They attract like-minded professionals who want to apply their financial expertise in a role that offers meaningful impact.

Lending Analyst
As Lending Analyst, you will assess the viability and sustainability of new and existing lending across a diverse portfolio of clients including commercial property, church and charity lending, and residential home lending. Working closely with clients and the wider lending team, you will analyse each proposal, structure compliant terms and ensure every loan works for both the borrower and the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess new and existing loan applications
  • Assess residential home lending applications, including income verification, servicing and responsible lending requirements
  • Apply CCCFA requirements and responsible lending principles to relevant consumer lending
  • Evaluate serviceability and the long-term sustainability of borrower income
  • Prepare clear, well-reasoned credit papers and lending recommendations
  • Structure terms that comply with lending policy and regulatory requirements
  • Complete client due diligence, including AML/CFT obligations
  • Work directly with clients from initial enquiry through to settlement
  • Support the annual review process through analysis and insight across the portfolio
  • Contribute to lending policy, process improvement and portfolio reporting

About you
You will come from a bank or wider financial services organisation and want your credit expertise to count for something beyond the balance sheet.

  • Credit analysis or lending experience in a bank, non-bank lender or similar
  • Experience assessing residential home lending and a practical understanding of the CCCFA and responsible lending requirements
  • Commercial, property, church, charity or not-for-profit lending experience would be highly regarded
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Confident with clients, able to build trust and explain lending decisions clearly
  • Sound judgement and the conviction to back your recommendations
  • Tertiary qualified in finance, accounting, commerce or a related discipline

What’s in it for you?
You’ll be part of a collaborative and values-driven organisation where your work directly supports lending that makes a real difference in communities. The culture is professional, supportive and focused on continuous improvement.
This role offers broad exposure across the full lending lifecycle within a stable, purpose-led financial institution, with the scope to build your credit expertise on lending that genuinely matters.
